IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUR VALUED PATIENTS AND PHYSICIANS
Brite Health Care (“BHC”) received an urgent recall notice from Philips Respironics on June 14, 2021.
The Bulletin was framed as follows:
URGENT: Medical Device Recall
Philips Respironics
CPAP and Bi-Level PAP Devices
The Philips Notice came without any forewarning or advance notice to Brite Health Care.
As Philips Respironics is one of the two largest manufacturers of PAP devices; this recall has created a vast shortage of equipment available for distribution. Per the recall notice you have been advised to discontinue use of your device.
As of this writing, Philips Respironics has not announced a definitive plan or procedure to replace these devices to us for you.
Industry Note:
June 15, 2021 ResMed, the other leading manufacturer, has tendered notice to its DME customers; they will be placed on an allocation of product limiting the amount of devices delivered during this crisis.
Resolution:
The health and safety for our patients is of paramount importance to BHC. BHC proposes the following two possible options to its patients and physicians because of the situation created by the Philips Recall Notice:
BHC can place you on our list for replacement or repair of your present CPAP device once Philips develops a protocol or procedure for its devices; or
You may purchase or procure an alternative device through BHC.
Brite has a limited quantity of devices available for purchase. As a small business, we simply cannot provide the remedy for Philips Respironics, but we can make this offer to you in order to safeguard your health and safety, and ensure your continuity of therapy.
Please note: these devices will be on a first come first serve basis. As always, all of the units are brand new and will come with a two year warranty.
As more information becomes available, we will inform you by posting updates on our website or contacting you directly. Thank you for your immediate attention to this important matter.
